The joint peace action in Budapest is organised by the Women’s Solidarity Community and is connected to the Global Peace initiative.
For the Women’s Solidarity Community, our shared cause is to create a liveable future for our children, protect life, strengthen human relationships, foster cooperation among communities, and help build a peaceful and harmonious society.
We believe that these great goals begin in everyday life.
Peace begins with us — in our families, our communities, and in the relationships between us.
That is why, on 19 September, we will take a small but visible step.
The future of our children, the protection of life, and peace are causes we all share. Many small steps taken by many people, and peaceful actions taken by many communities, can already represent a tremendous force. That is why it is important that we find one another.
Even today, countless people and communities around the world are doing something for peace, for life, for nature, for families, for communities, and for a more liveable future. Often, we simply do not know about one another.
One of the important goals of the Global Peace initiative is to make these people and communities working for peace visible and to create opportunities for us to find one another. On 19 September, we will take a visible step towards this in Budapest.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON 19 SEPTEMBER?
We will set off in two groups.
Group 1: Deák Square, District V, Budapest — the area in front of the church
Group 2: Ferenciek Square, District V, Budapest — the area in front of the church
Gathering: 15:00 at both locations. Please arrive on time!
At the locations, the organisers will give a brief introduction and distribute the matching T-shirts, as well as leaflets and small paper hearts.
The T-shirts will be available for purchase. If you do not wish to keep yours, please return it at the end of the action so that it can be used again at a future event.
Departure: 15:15
The two groups will set off simultaneously towards the Danube Promenade. Along the way, we will hand out leaflets and small paper hearts to passers-by. With one simple message: peace does not begin somewhere else — each of us can do something for it.
ON THE DANUBE PROMENADE – THE HEART GATE
We will meet on the Danube Promenade, where we will set up the Heart Gate installation. The Heart symbolises both Hungary — the Country of the Heart — and a gateway to a more peaceful future. Walking through the gate is a symbolic shared step: the path towards a peaceful future leads through connection, trust, and cooperation with one another.
The final location of the installation will be selected on site, taking the circumstances and visual impact into consideration.
Photos and videos will be taken at the gate, after which we will create a peace symbol together using colourful ribbons. Finally, we will sing the Peace Song together.

19 SEPTEMBER – A FIRST STEP
The joint peace action in Budapest is part of a larger initiative. The goal of Global Peace is to find and make visible the people and communities who are already taking action for peace, for life, and for a more liveable future.
Let us know about one another. Let us find one another. Let us connect. Let us learn from one another. Let us act together for peace.
