On September 19, we will take that step together in Budapest.
For one day, we will make visible something we all long for: peace.
At the first Budapest model event of the Women’s Community Initiative, small groups will set out from different locations across Budapest and make their way toward a shared meeting point. Along the way, you may encounter us. You may discover the signs. You may stop and talk with us.
You may choose to join.
And when you take that one step together with us, you are no longer simply wishing for peace — you are taking action for it.
Peace Begins With One Step
We often think of global peace as something distant — an ideal that feels far beyond our reach. But peace does not begin somewhere else.

🌍It begins within us.
🌍It begins with the choices we make.
💕With a thoughtful gesture.
💕With a helping hand.
💕With a listening ear.
💕With a smile.
💕With a decision.
💕And with one step.
On September 19, we will bring this idea to life together in Budapest.
A Special Gathering
At our shared meeting point, a special installation will be waiting for us: a Heart that is also a gateway.
Those who pass beneath it will experience what it means when we do not try to move forward alone.
▫️When we pay attention to one another.
▫️When we support one another.
▫️When we stand beside one another.
▫️When we take the next step together.
What exactly will happen at the Gate of the Heart? That is something we will leave for the moment of our gathering.
But one thing is certain:

▫️A bridge between people.
▫️A bridge between communities.
▫️A bridge between peoples and nations.
▫️And a bridge from the present toward a more peaceful future.
Your Step Matters
This is our first step. It may seem small.

But this is how change always begins.
▫️Someone takes the first step.
▫️Then someone else joins.
▫️And before we know it, many of us are moving forward together.
Global peace will not be created by one single great decision.
Global peace is built through millions of peaceful actions — through the choices of people who choose peace in their own lives, within their own communities and in the world around them.
That is why your step matters too.
If you come, you are not simply taking part in an event.
You are adding your part to the bridge.
The Shared Action Begins Before September 19
The message of peace will begin making its way through the streets of Budapest before the event itself.
In the weeks leading up to September 19, you may encounter small signs and messages in unexpected places:

▫️discovery games,
▫️message cards,
▫️places inviting you to meet,
▫️and perhaps a message that inspires you to do something good for someone else.
❔At first, you may simply become curious.

But the story will already have begun. And on September 19, the answer will come together.
